COURSE OUTLINE:
This course explains the basic need for mechanical seal systems and theory behind how they work.

- Application of the mechanical seals
- API Seal Plans
- Selection of seal plan for different applications
- Sizing and selection of seals for different application
TIMING
- Total Duration: 5 hours
- First Session: 11:00 AM to 11:35 AM
- Stretch Break: 11:35 AM to 11:45 AM
- Second Session: 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM
- Lunch: 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM
- Third Session: 1:30 PM to 2:50 PM
- Stretch Break: 2:50 PM to 3:00 PM
- Fourth Session: 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM
INSTRUCTOR
Alberto P. Taylor, Account Manager – Seal Projects, Flowserve Canada Corp
B.S Mechanical engineer with 9 years of experience on Oil & Gas industry (refineries, pipeline, petrochemicals, upgraders); experience on rotating equipment reliability (pumps & centrifugal compressors ); knowledge on engineering, design and selection of mechanical seals, as well seal auxiliary systems; capable to perform RCA and FA of rotative equipment and process.
Currently involved on seal project sales, serving HQ’s and EPC’s located in Calgary; main contact for HQ’s—EPC’s—OEM’s—End users’ inquiries.
Previous experience: Application engineer 2005-2007 JC Mexico City; Field Engineer (reliability) 2007-2012 JC Mexico Southeast; On-site Engineer (reliability) Syncrude 2012-2013 Flowserve Canada Fort McMurray; Account Manager (seal projects) 2013-Current Flowserve Canada Calgary.
