OVERVIEW
This course is intended for engineers, who want to gain an understanding of an instrument air (IA) compressor system. In this fundamental course, main components of an instrument air (IA) compressors system are described along with configuration and layout of system components. Design, operations and controls philosophy of oil flooded rotary screw air compressor will be presented. Air treatment equipment is essential component of IA system. Main focus will be on heatless regenerative twin tower desiccant dryer operations and control mechanism.
This course will demonstrates how to size the air compressor and dryer; and calculate air receiver storage volume based on the conditions provided in the data sheet.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Understand various components and layout of IA package
- Able to perform sizing and selection of air compressor and dryer; and calculation of air receiver storage volume for your facility based on the conditions provided in the data sheet
- Learn design, operations and controls philosophy of oil flooded rotary screw air compressor
- Be familiar with air treatment equipment (dryers / filters) and ISO air quality requirements
- Heatless regenerative twin tower desiccant dryer operations and control mechanism
- Realize the importance and location of air storage
