NEDAAAB Cricket Tournament

Program Details:

• When: Saturday August 09, 2014
• Time: 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM
• Where: Rotary Challenger Park 3688 -48 Ave NE Calgary, AB T3J 5C8
• Teams: 8 (maximum)
• Players: 8 per team (minimum), (10 maximum)
• Overs: 5 for league matches
• Semi Final/Final: 6-8 Overs
• Fees: $250/team
• Cricket Equipment: Cricket balls and wicket will be provided by NEDAAAB Organizing Committee
• Food & drinks will be provided by NEDAAAB Organizing Committee

Do not miss this opportunity to be the part of this festive atmosphere and a fun-filled event with the spirit of cricket at its best. This is not a family event, however if you choose to bring your kids anyways then parents have to ensure appropriate supervision. We encourage you to bring your families however due to budget constraint food will only be provided to the players participating in the tournament.

Game Rules & Code of Conduct:

NEDAAAB wants to encourage Nedians participation in the tournament therefore some rules have been modified in this tournament.

1. Each team can have maximum of 2 outside players (Non NEDian).
2. In order to encourage NEDIANS to participate more in the tournament, only one non-NEDian player will be allowed to bowl one over in a match. The other non-NEDian player will not be allowed to bowl in a same match.
3. Likewise Non-Nedian player will retire after scoring 15 runs and can come back to bat if the whole team is out.
4. A bowler can bowl 2 over maximum in a single match and minimum 4 bowlers should be used in a single match.
5. One player can play for only one team in the tournament.
6. If any team needs to change its players during the tournament, they should inform the umpire before the match. Only a NEDian can be used as a substitute player, a non-NEDian can only be used as a substitute fielder.
7. Byes and leg byes are permitted.
8. No balls by foot fault and 2nd ball in an over higher than shoulder.
9. There is no strict dress code, however all team are expected to be in play-wear.
10. Team captains are responsible at all times for ensuring that the game is conducted within the spirit of the game.
11. All players and teams shall not be engaged at any time in conduct which could bring the game into dispute. Players and teams shall not use rude or abusive language.
12. Players and teams must accept the umpire decision at all times. Players must not show dissent at the umpire decision.
13. Tournament/Game format shall be strictly followed by all teams and can be changed or modified at any time by the organizing committee
14. Captain’s alignment meeting will be held on Saturday August 2, 2014 in Tim Hortons downtown (665 8th street SW) at 6:00 PM.
15. Individual NEDians are welcome to participate in the event, however please don’t register on website, and forward your request directly to Usman Maroof via email. ([email protected]).
