OVERVIEW

NED Alumni Association Alberta (NEDAAAB, EC 12-14) is planning to conduct an “Interview Preparation and Resume Review Workshop” to its members/non members.
Oil and gas industry professionals will carefully analyze your resume formats and contents. You will also get an honest and fair critique of your resume, so if you are unsure if your resume passes today’s industry benchmarks, this workshop is for you.
In same time, professionals will also provide tips for an interview. The biggest mistake in interviewing is not being fully prepared. It behooves job-seekers to use every conceivable means possible to prepare for the interview and to allow ample time to fully prepare. Understand that interviewing is a skill; as with all skills, preparation and practice enhance the quality of that skill. Preparation can make the difference between getting an offer and getting rejected. In this workshop, Industry professionals will discuss about the different techniques and tools so that you can prepare yourself for an interview.

  • Current students
  • Recent graduate
  • Professionals having less than 3 years of working experience
  • All those looking for jobs in Alberta Oil/Gas market, in the field of: Chemical, Mechanical, Pipeline, Piping, Electrical, Controls System, Civil/Structure, Project Engineering, Materials, Project Controls, Quality control/Quality Assurance, Construction and Petroleum

Note: NEDAAAB Member and/or Non-Members both are eligible to attend this workshop.

WORKSHOP OUTLINE
A professional looking resume is vital in a competitive Alberta oil and gas job market. Showcasing your strength, achievements, and education emphasizing on your designations if applicable is of great importance. Your resume needs to communicate certain qualities companies look for in order to get called for interviews. During this workshop you will meet with oil and gas industry SMEs, who will review your resume on one-to-one basis.

Further information about this workshop is given below:

  • Total duration: 4 hours.
  • You may come with your convenience in between 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.
  • Light refreshment will be provided to all participants.
  • Relevant materials will be provided.
  • Bring your resume (hard copy) with you.
  • Your personal/professional information will not be shared with anyone else other than SME, who will review your resume.
  • Priority shall be given to those participants, who will register their name through nedaaab website

NEDAAAB takes your privacy seriously, and NEDAAAB policies and procedures mandate that your resume, as well as other personal information, may not be discussed with anyone after this workshop.

This WORKSHOP is free of cost, however, you need to register through NEDAAAB website.
Please provide your “first name”, “last name”, “phone number”, “email address” and “discipline”.
Also identify any “specific category” against which you are looking for job. This information will give taskforce an idea, which SME will be “perfect match” for your resume review. Such as, if you are mechanical engineer, however looking for a job as a “Piping Materials Engineer”, then under discipline column you will mention “Mechanical”, whereas under specific category you will mention “Piping Materials”.
