Introduction
Finally Summer is here and the cricket fever is about to begin here in Calgary.
As you know, NED Alumni Association Alberta ( NEDAAAB) is organizing Cricket Tournament for almost last ten years and it has now become our tradition.
This year we are organizing this event with slightly different format.
Event Details:
* When: Saturday July 22, 2017
* Time: 8: 00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Where: Rotary Challenger Park 3688 -48 Ave NE Calgary, AB T3J 5C8
* Teams: 6 (maximum)
* Overs: min 5 to 6 for league matches
* Registration Closing date. 25th Jun 2017
* Team Announcing date: 30th Jun 2017
Event Format:
This year we are changing the registration format and instead of team registration, you will register yourself only.
A. Selection of Team Captains:
Team Captains name will be finalized by the Taskforce Committee. Captain will be Nedian.
If one is interested to play as a “Team Captain” he can present his name as a Captain to Taskforce Committee Lead. He must forward his request via email [email protected] before 30th Jun 2017.
It’s Taskforce committee who will finalize the final names of Captains.
In case NEDAAAB receive more applications for Team Captains, preference would be given to those who have already been served in this role in NEDAAAB’s past Tournament.
Final decision must be acceptable to all players.
B. Placement of Team Members in different Teams
Min one or two week prior to tournament date. team captains would be call for a joint meeting and finalization of their team members. Venu of this meeting would be communicated to Team Captains through Whatsap Group.
A common pool of players will be given to Captains to select the players for their team.
Only those who have registered through NEDAAAB website would be included in that pool. Outsiders players name would not be included in the pool.
Assume we have five teams register for the Tournament, every Captain will be given a chance to select players from the given pool in his turn. If their are eight members in a team he would given a chance eight times to select his team members. He can select the member only in his turn.
Every team Capt. must select min three Nedians however this quantity might vary depends upon the registration of Nedians. Min criteria of Nedians in each team would be decided by Taskforce Committee and inform to Team. Captains before Captains Meeting.
C. Team names will be selected by Team Captains in consultation with their Team Members.
D. If anyone would like to take his name out from the Tournament for any reason, he can take his name out one day after Team name announcement meeting.
His decision will be shared with his team Captain. His replacement would be provided by Committee and should be acceptable to Team Captain. In case no replacement is available Team Captain can use any other player as a fielder.
E. Also this year, we are relaxing the rule of Nedian versus Non Nedian players as well.
This year Non Nedian players are also allowed in the tournament with all the privileges (batting and bowling without any restriction). However NEDAAAB organizing Committee will try their best to distribute Non Nedian players equally in all teams.

General Information
1. Further details regarding rules/regulations and schedule will be published a week or two week prior to Tournament.
2. Number of teams / players in each team and format of the game will be published later on after finalization of registration process.
3. Cricket Equipment: Cricket balls and wicket will be provided by NEDAAAB Organizing Committee
4. Food and drinks will be served to players only.
5. Organizing Committee decision of distribution of player names in different team will be considered acceptable to all players in the tournament.
6. Team Captain and vice captain name will also be selected by Organizing Committee with their consent.
7. Team player names and contact details will be handed over to team Captains and vice Captains soon after distribution of players in different team.
Registration Fee:
Registration Fee per person: 20 CD
Do not miss this opportunity to be the part of this festive atmosphere and a fun-filled event with the spirit of cricket at its best.
This is not a family event, however if you choose to bring your kids anyways then parents have to ensure appropriate supervision. We encourage you to bring your families however due to budget constraint food will only be provided to the players participating in the tournament.
