Program Details:

  • Teams: 8 (maximum) , 4 (minimum)
  • Players: 8 per team (minimum), (10 maximum)
  • Overs: 5 for league matches
  • Semi Final/Final: 6-8 Overs
  • Fees: $250/team
  • Cricket Equipment: Cricket balls and wicket will be provided by NEDAAAB Task Force
  • Food & drinks will be provided by NEDAAAB Task Force

Do not miss this opportunity to be the part of this festive atmosphere and a fun-filled event with the spirit of cricket at its best. This is not a family event; however, if you choose to bring your kids then parents have to ensure appropriate supervision. We encourage you to bring your families, however, due to budget constraint food will only be provided to the players participating in the tournament.


Game Rules & Code of Conduct:

NEDAAAB wants to encourage maximum participation of NEDians in the tournament and therefore rules are same as it were last year.

  1. Each team can have maximum of 2 outside players (Non NEDian).
  2. In order to encourage NEDians to participate more in the tournament, only one non-NEDian player will be allowed to bowl one over in a match. The other non-NEDian player will not be allowed to bowl in the same match.
  3. A person will be considered NEDian if he has graduated from NED or its affiliated institutions with a B.E, MEng or PhD degree.
  4. Non-Nedian player will retire after scoring 15 runs (a 6/4 hit at the score of 14 runs will be allowed and counted).
  5. A bowler can bowl 2 over maximum in a single match and minimum 4 bowlers should be used in a single match.
  6. One player can play for only one team in the tournament.
  7. If any team needs to change its players during the tournament, they should inform the umpire before the match. Only a NEDian can be used as a substitute player, a non-NEDian can only be used as a substitute fielder.
  8. Byes and leg byes are permitted.
  9. No balls by foot fault and 2nd ball in an over higher than shoulder.
  10. There is no strict dress code, however, all team are expected to be in play-wear.
  11. Team captains are responsible at all times for ensuring that the game is conducted within the spirit of the game.
  12. All players and teams shall not be engaged at any time in conduct which could bring the game into dispute. Players and teams shall not use rude or abusive language.
  13. Players and teams must accept the umpire decision at all times. Players must not show dissent at the umpire decision.
  14. Tournament/Game format shall be strictly followed by all teams and can be changed or modified at any time by the Task Force
  15. Captain’s alignment meeting will be held on Saturday August 22, 2015 in Tim Hortons downtown (665 8th street SW) at 6:00 PM.
  16. Individual NEDians are welcome to participate in the event, however please don’t register on website, and forward your request directly to Syed Ayaz Mahmood via email. ([email protected]).
