Do not miss this opportunity to be the part of this festive atmosphere and a fun-filled event with the spirit of cricket at its best. This is not a family event; however, if you choose to bring your kids then parents have to ensure appropriate supervision. We encourage you to bring your families, however, due to budget constraint food will only be provided to the players participating in the tournament.

Game Rules & Code of Conduct:

1. Each team can have maximum of 3 outside players (Non NEDians).

2. In order to encourage NEDians to participate more in the tournament, only one non-NEDian player will be allowed to bowl one over in a match. The other two non-NEDian players will not be allowed to bowl in the same match.

3. A person will be considered NEDian if he has graduated from NED or its affiliated institutions with a B.E, M.Eng, or PhD degree.

4. Non-Nedian player will retire after scoring 15 runs (a 6/4 hit at the score of 14 runs will be allowed and counted). Only two Non-Nedians will be allowed to bat in a match. The third Non-NEDian will only be allowed if no one batsman left in the team to complete the match.

5. For five (05) overs matches, only one bowler (NEDian) can bowl 2 over maximum and minimum 4 bowlers should be utilized. For six (06) overs matches, only two bowlers (NEDian) can bowl 2 over maximum and minimum 4 bowlers should be utilized.

6. One player can play for only one team in the tournament.

7. If any team needs to change its players during the tournament, they should inform the umpire before the match. Only NEDian can be used as a substitute player, a non-NEDian can only be used as a substitute fielder.

8. Runs from Bye, Leg bye, wides, no-balls, over throw are allowed. In case of a front foot No-Ball there will be NO FREE HIT.

9. Umpires decision will be FINAL. Umpires can consult with disciplinary committee, where required. Umpires decision shall NOT be challenged.

10. Players and teams must accept the umpire decision at all times. Players must not show dissent at the umpire decision.

11. For toss, both Captains should be available in front of the commentary area before 10 mins. of the match start time. If not, the available Captain will win the toss.

12. Waiting Time before walk over: 10 minutes (minimum players required to start a match = 4). Winner will be awarded 2 points, loser will get 0. If both teams do NOT show up within ten (10) minutes waiting time, then each team will get 1 point. Same for match tie, when there is no result (win/lose), both teams will get 1 point.

13. In case of rain, disciplinary committee will decide based on the scenario, whether the available options won’t affect the remaining schedule. The possible options could be reduced overs, super over, or draw (score 1-1). In case of super over, NEDians will bowl and bat.

14. Fiber bat is NOT allowed in the tournament.

15. There is no strict dress code; however, all teams are expected to be in play-wear.

16. Team captains are responsible at all times for ensuring that the game is conducted within the spirit of the game.

17. All players and teams shall not be engaged at any time in conduct which could bring the game into dispute. Players and teams shall not use rude or abusive language.

18. Commentary Rules: No name calling, no abusive language. Scores will be updated at the end of over. Non-NEDian score will be updated when is close to retiring.

19. Lunch will be served around noon 12pm, matches will be continued.

20. Tournament/Game format shall be strictly followed by all teams and can be changed or modified at any time by the Task Force Lead or his designate.

Disciplinary Committee Responsibilities:

1) In case of any conflict during a match, Umpire can get help from the available Committee Members at that time.

2) Committee will pass decision based on mutual understanding.

3) Committee decision will be final and cannot be changed.

NEDAAAB – Realtor Salim Syed Cricket Tournament 2016 – SCHEDULE

NOTE:

1. In case of tie for the selection of top 2 teams, Net Run Rate (NRR) will be considered for decision.

3. To respect the the schedule, there will be 10 minutes waiting time for walk over. In case, both teams couldn’t make the time, 1 point will be awarded to each of them. Otherwise, 2 points for the win and 0 for loss.

2. For toss, both Captains should be available in front of the commentary area before 10 minutes of the match start time. If not, the available Captain will win the toss.
