Background:

NEDAAAB is pleased to announce short course on the subject of “Maintenance and Reliability’’.

Because of recent Alberta oil/gas market situation, it would be a good idea to explore other fields as well; therefore NEDAAAB Elected Committee EC 14-16 has decided to conduct series of professional courses/seminars in those areas/fields which are less impacted due to current oil prices. Because of lack of investment in capital projects these days companies more focus is towards sustainability and reliability projects, this course can be served as a first step for you to think about the change of your present field and move towards the recession free field of “reliability and maintenance”.

Course Introduction:

This course will be useful especially for those engineers who are seeking certification by SMRP (Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals) as a certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP). In addition to this, the course will also be helpful for those who want to move their career towards Reliability and Maintenance.

It’s a management-oriented certification that evaluates and equips an individual’s skills in the five body of knowledge areas defined by SMRP.

About Course Instructors:

Jamal Izhar Siddiqui has served his career in Oil & Gas sector’s upstream (E&P) and mostly in downstream in refineries. He has worked for Saudi Aramco, Union Texas, Pakistan Refinery, Byco Oil Pakistan and Ansaldo Energia Spa in Power sector.  He has equipped himself with AWS, API 510 & 653 Certifications and recently the CMRP Certification.

His core areas of working are Inspection, Asset Integrity Management, and Maintenance & Reliability philosophy for the Operational, New and Used Plants. The turn-around / shutdown scope issuance, planning and coordination are another area of his job assignments. He has also played a role in Supervision of Projects & Construction, Management and Procurement pertaining to client side customaries.

In his last assignment of Pakistan he has worked at various senior level positions in bringing up an old refinery from brown field to green field which involved entire refinery dismantling, break bulk shipment, refurbishment, construction and commissioning.

Taha Paracha experienced in oil sands projects in particular ore preparation and extraction plant facilities, SAGD (steam assisted gravity drainage) and Conventional oil and gas and refinery facilities.  Reliability and maintenance engineer experience of 4 years in these roles.

Have obtained CMRP (Certified maintenance and reliability professional) designation. Trained in reliability engineering courses conducted by Shell in Houston and Fort McMurray. PHA/HAZOP certified as well, member Engineer in training with APEGA.

Current assignment, working as Maintenance and Reliability Specialist at Cenovus energy looking after all sites for maintenance, reliability and work management issues.
